INSTITUTIONAL FUNDING PRIORITIES
Hampshire's foremost fundraising priorities are to raise money for the following:
Annual Support
Annual giving is the bedrock of support for Hampshire College.
The Hampshire Fund provides over $1 million yearly (equivalent to the income generated by a $20 million endowment) to support faculty, students, and facilities, all the things that make Hampshire an extraordinary environment for learning.
And while our alums are on average younger than our peers' - our first class entered in 1970 – we aspire to triple the fund over the next few years by increasing dramatically the number of leadership contributions and the percentage of "Hampshire people" supporting this unique educational enterprise.

Endowment and Capital Support
Hampshire College was not only a new idea when it opened its doors in
1970, the first students also arrived to find a brand new campus.
Forty years after those first buildings were constructed, Hampshire
College celebrates this anniversary with a fresh commitment to campus
renewal. The
40th Anniversary Campus Renewal Initiative recognizes that
academic excellence and the quality of the student experience are
linked to the quality of campus facilities.

Faculty
Hampshire's faculty bring knowledge, passion, and boundless energy to their work with students. In addition to a full teaching load, faculty serve on students' divisional committees, helping them discern their educational and intellectual focus, establishing standards for academic rigor, and offering mentorship through regular meetings and portfolio reviews.
Your gift supports faculty development, start-up funds for new faculty, and endowed faculty chairs.

Financial Aid
Most colleges and universities cover the bulk of their financial aid grants through income generated by well-established, sizable endowments. As a young college, Hampshire's endowment is still quite modest – but we are
no less committed to financial aid.
Hampshire devotes almost a quarter of its annual operating budget to help support students who would otherwise lack the means to attend college. Fifty-two percent of our students received financial aid last year.
One of our current priorities for financial aid is to build an endowment for the
James Baldwin Scholars Program.
