Hampshire Phonathon
The Hampshire Phonathon in an integral part of the College’s Hampshire Fund efforts. Students make calls to alumni and parents annually to ask for financial support, update contact information and share news from the College. Our student callers learn firsthand how their education is impacted by the generous donations of thousands of alumni and friends by interacting with donors on a one-on-one basis. Last year, the Phonathon raised nearly $40,000 for the Annual Fund. Our goal for 2007–2008 is to raise $100,000.
When you receive a call from a student on behalf of the Hampshire Fund, please take the opportunity to find out how things have changed since you last visited Hampshire. Share your love of Hampshire!
Participation & Dollar Challenge
A generous Hampshire parent has challenged all Hampshire alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends with a gift of $75,000 to:
- increase giving to the Hampshire fund; Match 1 for 1 all increases of $250 or more, or
- make a gift to the Hampshire Fund if nothing was given last year; Match 2 for 1 all new donors; a new donor is someone who did not make a gift between 07/01/2006 and 06/30/2007
Anniversary Giving
Most colleges have reunions to celebrate the year of graduation. As you know, at Hampshire, we like to do things a little differently. We celebrate the anniversary of your entry at Hampshire and we invite you to make a special contribution to the Hampshire Fund in honor of your anniversary.
Hampshire Fund Scholars Program
Beginning with the 2007-08 academic year, a gift of $5,000 or more to the Hampshire Fund can be designated to the Hampshire Fund Scholars Program to support a student receiving financial aid.
It is a way for donors to become more connected with how their donation directly affects a student’s experience during the year. Donors have the option of pledging $5,000 for four years to be matched with one student during their entire experience at Hampshire.
Donors will be invited to meet student recipients at the annual fall Family, Alumni, & Friends weekend or at a time convenient to the donor.
Guidelines:
- A donor may support a student with a gift of $5,000 or more. This funding level is based upon the average grant package for Hampshire students.
- Corporate matching gifts may be included to reach $5,000 total.
- Hampshire couples may support one scholar by making a joint gift of $5,000.
- Scholarships funded through the Hampshire Fund Scholars Program are awarded during the academic year. A student will be assigned in the next academic year for gifts made after February 1.
- Donors are invited to meet student recipients on campus.
